We're going to do things a little differently this week! Because we are starting our first book study, we won't be recording our 100 minutes of reading. Instead, we will be reading a few chapters of "Sophie lance et compte" at home. I will read some chapters at school, and the students will read the rest at home. Here is our schedule:
Monday - chapter 2 Tuesday - chapter 4 Wednesday - chapter 6 Thursday - chapter 8 It will be important to stay on task, as it will be easy to get behind! We will also be having a spelling quiz this coming Friday, so students should take the time to really know their words. Check out "Vocabulary Words of the Week" on the blog to see your child's words! 1. Finish up your 100 minutes of English reading. Please do not forget to record your book and how many minutes you've read in your agenda. I will be checking on Monday!
2. Recipes: please bring in a family recipe (or one you've found online!) for Monday. 3. Sciences: if you are able to, look around outside for seeds. We will discuss seed propagation in class on Monday. 1. We are reading in English this week! I strongly suggest getting a good bit of reading done tonight, so that summarizing your text tomorrow is easier.
2. Math quiz tomorrow! We are covering addition, subtraction, and representing numbers. I know we are going to rock this! Bonjour tout le monde! Unfortunately, I have been hit by the flu. I will not be in tomorrow. Please welcome Mme. Beauregard into our classroom. I know you will all help her out and make her feel at home. 1. We are reading in English again this week. It is a short week, and I really want to dive into our informational texts! Please feel free to "supplement" your 100 minutes with some other books of your choosing. 2. We are also sticking with the same vocabulary words! 3. Our first math quiz is on Wednesday. As promised, I am giving you the first question! Here it is: Représente le nombre 25 578 autant de manières que possible. *Remember, one of the most important ways to represent this is to think of a real life example of it. What costs 25 578 dollars? Is there a community with a population of 25 578? What are some other real life examples of it? Another way to prepare for your quiz is to go on Prodigy. Keep practicing! 4. Recipes: find some family recipes. Call your granparents! Your aunts and uncles! Find that favourite family recipe you love and bring it in! (the recipe, not the actual food!) 1. Keep those fundraising forms coming in!
2. Maths - (math book) - pages 74 and 75. Students pick three questions. 3. Reading in English this week. Everyone received new books today. Hopefully the blog issues are over! Apologies for the inconvenience
