Because we didn't finish all our work today, we have a bit extra for tonight.
1. Please finish the grammar sheet started in class. 2. In your math workbooks, please finish page 130. Here's the "maison de 4" song we practiced in class last week: Row, row, row your boat I thought I'd post the homework for the week! Basically we will be focussing on our French reading and vocabulary words. Any other homework will be whatever was not completed in class. The students will be bringing home two French fairy tales on Monday. The books are separated into two parts: the story, and the play. They will be reading them throughout the week.
Monday: 1. Sort new vocabulary words (see "Vocabulary words for the week" if the words were forgotten at school) 2. Read one story. Tuesday: 1. Study new vocabulary words. 2. Read other story. Wednesday: 1. The students chose which story they would like to focus on. Tonight they will read the "play" section of the chosen story. 2. Search their at-home books for an, en, or am words. Thursday: 1. Study new vocabulary words. 2. Read aloud play section of chosen story. Friday: 1. Read aloud play section of chosen story again (for fluency) Weekend: Continue practicing to read aloud play section of story. No homework this weekend - enjoy! We will be back with the reading and vocabulary words on Monday.
1. Tonight we are reading our "Innovations" text. Please read pages 91 - 93. There's a great science experiment described in the text! I encourage all of you to try it.
2. We are skating tomorrow at 9:45. Don't forget that everyone needs to wear a helmet when skating. Enjoy your extra day at home! Some have been asking me about our skating schedule. We are not skating tomorrow! Our next skate is this Friday.
Welcome back everyone!
We have no vocabulary words for this short week. We will be back to it next week. For reading this week we are concentrating on our new science unit. We are learning all about water! The kids will be bringing home a "Innovations" science text. Tonight they should be reading pages 91 - 93. They are reading for comprehension, so this can be something they do quietly on their own. However, the text describes a fantastic home experiment they can try. I encourage everyone to give it a try at home! |
