I hope everyone had a restful weekend! This week, we are continuing our focus on number sense. Don't forget the optional homework of looking for "big numbers." They could be advertisement for cars, houses, or numbers we write down that we see in our daily lives. Here is a worksheet you can use if you would like some extra practice: ("expaded form" means "forme développée"): Math worksheet In French, we have started our vocabulary list. We will be doing a bit of work on it every day. If you would like some extra practice, here is a copy of all the lists in French we will be doing this year. We are currently working on list 1: Mots de vocabulaire In English, we are starting our first book study! It's "Mystery at Cranberry Farm." For those looking to do a little extra, you can continue reading in English at home.

Welcome to week 3 of class! I'm so proud and impressed with all the work everyone has been doing. Here is our focus for the week: Art: We are drawing bushels of apples https://artprojectsforkids.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Draw-a-Bushel-of-Apples.pdf Math: We are working on comparing and contrasting numbers this week. Here is an extra worksheet for those who would like more practice. They include an answer sheet so you can check your answers. https://www.k5learning.com/worksheets/math/grade-3-compare-numbers-a.pdf French: We are working on "small moments." We are discussing them in class in French, using the following word forms: Je suis allé(e) Chez moi, chez mes grandparents, etc. Avant, après, pendant, depuis, ensuite, en premier, finalement (les "mots de transitions") For those who would like extra practice, they could talk about their small moments in French at home while using the above forms. English: We are working on a reader's workshop, specifically non-fiction texts. The best way to get extra practice with this is reading at home in English.
The focus this week is on number sense, mental addition and subtraction, beginning our reader's workshop, and starting writing. For those who would like some extra, here are some activities you can do.
