Hello all - other than our Coin Lecture and Math, I have some optional homework - we don't have to do it, but if we are able to that would be great.
1. I am on the hunt for old toothbrushes! It's for an art project. If you have any you were looking to get rid of, we will make use of them! 2. Recipes: We are starting a unit on procedural texts. I will be bringing in a ton of cookbooks, but I would like to hear from students who have special family recipes. The more informal, the better! We love recipes that call for a pinch of this or a handful of that. If your child has a favourite meal you or anyone in your family likes to cook for them, a copy would be wonderful. If your child enjoys preparing the recipe themselves, or if you would like to make it with them, even better! The recipes do not have to be in French, as we are doing this unit in both French and English.

5. 1. Finish up your Coin Lecture reading this weekend. Because of no school tomorrow I'll collect them on Monday! 2. If you didn't finish your math work in class today (pages 18 and 19), please finish them at home. If you have trouble with a concept, please do your best and we'll work on it together on Monday! 3. Depending on today's weather, our Terry Fox run may be Monday. 4. We are collecting cans for the food bank for our Thanksgiving assembly. Please bring something if you can! 5. Have a wonderful long weekend. You've all been working really hard - rest up and enjoy yourseves! 1. Please continue to work on your Coin Lecture. Because of the long weekend, you can turn in your completed work on Monday.
2. Terry Fox run is tomorrow! Dress appropriately! Sorry for the confusion with the blog - here is my original post about homework:
New Coin lecture readings were sent out in the children's homework bags. Because we are out this Friday, students have until Monday to complete them. I've noticed many have already completed their work. Well done! Today, a green duo-tang will come home in their homework bag. This is to be used instead of agendas - they are calendars. Because our homework is fairly static, students only occasionally need to make something down. Birthdays, assemblies, PD days, etc, etc, will be marked on the calendar. Please check it regularly! We're reading a great book, "Le fan club des champignons" by Elise Gravel. We're learning all kinds of crazy stuff about mushrooms. If you are walking out in the woods, be sure to look out for island mushrooms, but DON'T TOUCH OR EAT THEM! I was having some blog issues, so I decided to do this in its own post: the students haved decided to use their "compliments" towards a pj day. Tomorrow, the kids can come wearing their pjs (only if they want to)! And yes, they can bring their teddy bears if they want. .
