A reminder that this Friday is a PD day, and there will be no school for students! French We are continuing our work on opinion texts this week. Students should begin to think about their final copy. They are welcome to bring it home to work on it. We are starting a novel study this week! We will be studying the books of Gilles Tibo, and reading Noemie - Le secret de Madame Lumbago. English We are also working on opinion letters in English. This week we will look at paragraphing and using effective transition words. We will also be completing our book clubs this week. This may mean that some students need to read their books at home (especially those in Chocolate River Rescue). Maths We are dividing! This week we are going to delve a bit deeper into division with remainder and long division (just two digits by one digit). Here is a worksheet the students can practice on: Division worksheets (with answer sheets) I hope everyone had a restful March break. I will be out for most of this week (until Thursday). COVID has struck my household and we are all recovering. I hope everyone has stayed healthy during this time. Jenna-Marie will still be in class, and I know that she will do a great job with you all! French We are continuing to work on our opinion letters about our favourite books. To work at home, students can continue reading some great books. I won't assign books this week, so students are encouraged to pick out some great French books from our library. English We will be doing sessions 3 and 4 of our book clubs this week. Students should think about bringing their books home to read ahead (especially those of you who are working on Chocolate River Rescue). We are also continuing to work on our opinions letters about the new school. By the end of this week students should have at least one draft of a letter completed. Maths This week we are learning about one digit time two digit multiplication . Knowing your time tables is very useful, so practicing that at home would help. In grammar, we're continuing our work on sujet - prédicat English We are also working on English opinion texts! In reading, we are in our book clubs. Some students should think of reading their sections ahead of time (especially people in "Chocolate River Rescue."). Maths We are starting our long multiplication!
