I didn't put up an entry for last week, so I thought I'd be early for this one! French In French, we are writing our informational texts on an animal of our choice. For students who would like to get ahead, the work will be on Google Classroom. Also, we will be working on verbs in French in the present tense. In grade 4, students need to know être, avoir, aller, faire, and aimer in the present tense. They have all of these in their "Carnet d'auteur." Here is a page with some general rules on how to conjugate French verbs in the present tense: www.francaisfacile.com/exercices/exercice-francais-2/exercice-francais-84152.php#:~:text=Les%20verbes%20du%20premier%20groupe,%3B%20%2Dez%3B%20%2Dent.&text=Les%20verbes%20du%20deuxi%C3%A8me%20groupe,un%20participe%20pr%C3%A9sent%20en%20%2Dissant. English In English we are finishing up our book clubs. Students are also writing informational texts on a subject of their choosing. They can bring the texts home to continue their work. For the vocabulary words of the week I've left some English words that I've noticed students are struggling with. Maths This week we are working hard on adding and subtracting words two numbers after the decimal. This is really helpful when counting money. Here's a worksheet for those who would like extra practice. www.mathslibres.com/decimaux/decimaux_soustraction_uns_centiemes_facile_001.php What a rainy start to the week! Here's what we're up to: French In French, we will be working on some new vocabulary words, as well as the verb "Aller" in present tense (check out "Vocabulary Words of the Week" for the list. We will be finishing "Sophie lance et compte" and restarting guided reading. As well, we will be learning about Google Slides, and using them to write an informational text on an animal. English In English, we are continuing to write our informational texts. We have also started our book clubs, and will be completing sections 1 and 2 this week. Students will mostly work on this in class, but some may need to bring their books home to practice. Math In math, we will be comparing decimal numbers, and beginning our addition and subtraction of decimals. One of the best ways to learn that is to count money! Here's an extra worksheet that helps with that. Also, grown ups can help out by looking at decimal numbers like grocery bills and menus costs with their child. www.homeschoolmath.net/worksheets/table-canadian-money.php?penny=1&nickel=1&dime=1&quarter=1&halfdollar=1&1dollar=1&2dollar=1&problems=6&sort=1&maxcoins=8&maxvalue=500&font=sans-serif&FontSize=11pt&pad=10&ptitle=&Submit=Submit Social studies: We are continuing to look at the map of PEI. Students have been learning about mapping through Google maps. Science: Some students are working on a specific project involving building a "Dance Dance Revolution" board with Makey Makey. I am learning along with them, but here is a few examples of ready made programs: scratch.mit.edu/projects/163348168/remixes/ Dear parents and guardians,
In the "links" section of the blog, I've added the "SchoolCashOnline" link. We are moving to this any time there needs to be any kind of payment made to the school (for field trips, school supplies, etc). I'll include the link below as well. Today (Wednesday) I'll be sending home some forms with instructions on how to use the site. Après que vous avez jouer les jeux ci-dessus pour quelques minutes vous pouvez jouer à Prodigy.
