For those who want to rewatch the hand knitting video from today, or who want to try some of the cool crafts mentioned there, here is the site: Hand Knitting
Don't forget to record your reading each day! I'll be checking!
Tomorrow, we will be having our fractions math quiz. Here's one of the toughest questions: 3/4 of 24 Feel free to discuss answers in the comments. Here are the math pages we'll be working on this week: Wednesday: page 92 Thursday: pages 94 and 95 Friday: pages 96 and 97 Hello everyone,
The students have done an amazing job these past few days, and have earned a "cozy day." Cozy day can be slippers, fuzzy socks, blankets, or anything else that makes them feel cozy. We will still be working all day (we have lots to get through!), but we will have extra DEAR time and an art class. Tomorrow, some students in the class are participating in a hockey tournament at Cody Banks at 12:45. We will be walking over to support them for a part of the game, so kids should dress warmly. Thanks, Jenn This week we are still reading at home! Some students have guided reading books, reach back books, or resource books. We are covering a lot of math this week, so I thought I'd write down what we're working on here!
Monday - Math worksheet (in the green duo-tang) Tuesday - Workbook pages 88 and 89 (numbers 2, 3, and Va Plus Loin) Wednesday - In class work Thursday - Workbook pages 90 and 91 Friday - Worksheets Don't forget to check out the English version of the workbook online! It's super helpful. We're comparing fractions this week, which can be tricky! Here are a few games the students can practice with: This week we are only at school for two days, so we need those days to count! We also will have lots of math work. Although students will always have a chance to work on completing their math work during school, I thought I'd post the work we're doing for parents to see what's going on: Tuesday: pages 84 and 85 of the workbook Wednesday: Pages 86 and 87 of the workbook. I know some parents find the workbooks a bit difficult to navigate (they're tough for the teacher sometimes too!). I found an English version of the workbook online that might be helpful. The pages should correspond to the ones we're working on in class: http://www.sacredheartacademy.ca/documents/general/math%20makes%20sense%20homework%20book.pdfwww.sacredheartacademy.ca/documents/general/math%20makes%20sense%20homework%20book.pdf The kids will also be working on some French vocabulary words. These are words and phrase fragments that I've been noticing a lot of errors in. I normally don't do "classic" spelling quizzes but sometimes it can be helpful to study certain forms! They will come home with the list but here's a copy:
À propos de vraiment quand c’était Tu as Une personne Île-du-Prince-Édouard Je suis allé(e) Tu es allé(e) seulement amusant/amusante fatiguer Just a few reminders!
Tomorrow will be our practice for the assembly on Thursday. Don't forget to have a pair of black pants with a white shirt for the Thursday assembly. It starts at 10:30. Because of choir, I've rescheduled our time for book fair purchasing. Instead, we will be able to purchase books from the bookfair on Thursday morning at 9:15. And finally, tomorrow we will be getting a visit from Veteran's Affairs to do a great activity! The activity will be filmed and will take place at the end of the day. Here's the site we'll be using: https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/memorials/canadian-virtual-war-memorial The blog is back! Sorry for the lack of updates, and hopefully I'll be able to access it from now on.
This week we do not have reading homework! Of course, you can read if you like (and I hope you do!) but I would like for everyone to concentrate on memorizing their section of "In Flanders Fields." I've sent a copy home with all of you. Parents and guardians: You are welcome to the assembly this Thursday. Everything start at 10:30. Have a nice week! |
