1. Continue reading in French. Don't forget that if you've already read the three books I assigned to you on Monday, you can switch them up in class each morning.
2. Vocabulary words - the provinces and territories of Canada. We will have a spelling quiz on Friday. 3. Maths - page 40 of your "cahier d'exercices." 4. There are a lot of absences today! Here are two of the videos we watched in class: National Geographic Kids - Haida Gwai 1. Read in French for 100 minutes
2. Maths - pages 42 and 43 3. Study your multiplication table - we are testing all week! 1. Study your new vocabulary words. I'll update the "Vocabulary Words of the Week" section soon, but it is the names of all the provinces and territories in French.
2. Maths - pages 40 - 41 3. For those wondering about the throat singing we saw today, here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBg1vfe8P1g As I already mentioned, I would like us to complete "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" for Monday. I've mentioned this to the kids in class, but as we have lots of absences today, I thought I'd mention it here as well:
To kick off our unit on provinces and territories, we will be baking on Monday. We will be making luskinikn (Mi'kmaq bannock). I will be bringing everything we need, but if anyone has aprons they could wear that would be great (I'll bring a few extras). Also, if there is anyone willing to donate any jam or butter (unopened) it would be much appreciated! I'll bring my own, but it's always nice to have a variety. Here's the recipe we'll be using: https://www.mikmaqmama.com/recipe/luskinikn I seem to be having some trouble accessing weebly from school. Just in case, I'll post the homework for the rest of the week:
Wednesday: 1. Chapter 6 of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing 2. Pages 36 and 37 of the math book Thursday: 1. Chapter 8 of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing 2. Pages 38 and 39 of the math book Friday: 1. Finish Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing 2. Study your multiplication table - we will be starting our quizzes soon! Sorry for the delay in posting! Hopefully this will set us up for the week. 1. We are starting our book study of "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing." Tonight, I would like you to read chapter 3.
2. Study your vocabulary words! One group has not received theirs yet, but I would like everyone else to take 5 minutes to read over them. 3. If you have not already done so, finish the "Structure Narrative" for the French novel I assigned to you last week. I will be out tomorrow - please welcome Megan MacDonald into the classroom. Have a wonderful day! Apologies for the lateness in blogging and in responding to emails! The power was out at our place, and I am now blogging from the library. I hope everyone is safe and sound after the big storm.
I would like you all to finish the French novels I assigned to you on Wednesday. If you are able, finish the "Structure Narrative" section of your paper. You do not need to complete the other side. Fill it out the way I showed you in class (with "The chandail d'hockey"). If you aren't able to, don't worry, but know that it will be for homework Monday evening. I had almost forgotten about our skate day tomorrow. We are going first thing in the morning from 8:45 - 9:45.
