Another short week! We have a few things going on this week. The biggest is our assembly this Thursday, and you are all invited to attend! It will be in our gym, starting at 10:15. We have been practicing a part of "In Flanders Field" that we will recite during the assembly. Here's a copy for those who don't have their sheet: À nos jeunes désabusés À vous porter l’oriflamme Et de garder au fond de l’âme Le goût de vivre en liberté. Acceptez le défi, sinon Les coquelicots se faneront Au champ d’honneur. A reminder that there is no school this Friday. French In French we will be working on our good copies of our story. Students are invited to work on them at home. Students are also working in guided reading, specifically our French fairy tale plays. They can work on these at home to practice. English In English we are also working on stories. We will be weaving in some figurative language to support this. The figurative language we are working on this week is alliteration. Here's a little worksheet to practice alliteration: www.easyteacherworksheets.com/pages/pdf/languagearts/alliteration/9.html Maths We are working on subtraction in math. This can be really challenging, and sometimes the best way to get really good at it is to practice, practice, practice. These practice sheets aren't much fun, but they are repetitive and allow students to get that practice: www.math-drills.com/subtraction/subtraction_multidigit_nts_0404_001.php Sciences In science, we are looking at insect mouth parts to see why they might have certain shapes. I found this fun little booklet online that talks about insects and their adaptations. There are some art components to it for students who would like a little extra: bexar-tx.tamu.edu/files/2020/04/Adaptations-of-Insects-Student.pdf
