Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful break. Here's what we're up to this week: French In French, we are continuing to read Sophie lance et compte. We are discussing the figurative language in the book, and trying to understand more French expression. Our vocabulary words of the week are focusing on the [an] sound, using am and em. Please check out "Vocabulary Words of the Week" to see what words we are covering. We are also looking at the verb être in imparfait. Here's a little fill in the blank for those who would like some extra practice. www.francaisfacile.com/exercices/exercice-francais-2/exercice-francais-23669.php English In English, we will be starting our book clubs "Kids Can do it." Some students may want to bring books home with them to practice. We will also be starting our persuasive texts in English (mostly just an outline). Maths We are going to take some time to make sure that we are comfortable with multiplication and division. I will evaluate the students next week! Kahn Academy has some great lessons on division with remainder. For anyone who would like some extra practice, they can go here: fr.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/x18ca194a:divide-with-remainders/x18ca194a:remainders/e/understanding-remainders Social Studies We are continuing to look at the map of Prince Edward Island and identify major landmarks. We will also talk about Indigenous place names. Students will be learning about the ancient history of PEI. Here's a link to Epekwitk place names: lnuey.ca/reconciliation/epekwitk-place-names/
