We're starting out with a snowy Monday and a pyjama day! There are lots of things going on this week, so here's a preview:
French We are studying a new batch of vocabulary words. Check out "Vocabulary Words For the Week" if you'd like to study at home. This week we will also be adding to our persuasive letters and continuing to stretch our writing skills. As always, reading at home in French is a great way to increase our skills. Students are welcome to bring back books from school, or use their own books. English We're also writing persuasively in English! Right now we are in the free write zone, but we will soon be narrowing it down and working specifically on one area. We are continuing to read Varjak Paw. I've fallen behind a bit in posting the Youtube videos with the chapters, but I'll get back on it as soon as possible. Math We are starting to add and subtract decimals! I'll be ending the unit next week with an evaluation. I'll post a few websites with some activities, but one of the best ways for students to practice this is to help you add up things like the grocery bill. This is the most practical application of adding decimals, and it makes it more real for them. Here's some practice pages (there are lots!): https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/mathstats/docs/Arithmetic.pdf
