Hello everyone! Here's what we're up to this week: French: We will be finishing up our guided reading "expert" groups this week. I will start collecting the books and sending students home with new books to read. We will also be starting the book "Mammouth Rock," and looking at non-fiction text features in French. We will explore some alternative non-fiction texts. English: We are continuing to write our non-fiction texts. This week I'm hoping we will be able to finish the body of our text. Our vocabulary words this week are digraphs such as th, sh, ch, wh, and ph. Check out "Vocabulary Words of the Week" on the blog to see some practice words. I might use some worksheets from the following page to practice: www.superteacherworksheets.com/phonics-digraphs.html Maths We are really getting into the multiplication table this week! The kids will start looking at what multiplications they need to practice. Timetables.com remains a great practice site. Another way to help your child is to spend a few mintues a day reviewing some multiplications. Concentrate on the ones they don't know! Sciences We are putting together our volcanoes, fossils, and other models this week to show the class. If time permits, we may start our erosion project.
