We are kicking off our 70th anniversary celebrations this week! Students are invited to bring in non perishable items for the food bank. Our goal is to have 70 items per class. Science We are returning to our rocks and minerals unit this week. On Monday, we will learn all about the rock cycle. During the week, students will work on explaining the rock cycle in their own words. They can either explain it in a presentation to me, or in writing. I will be working for the following key words: métamorphique, sédimentaire, sédiments, chaleur, pression, magma, ignée. We will be finishing up our multiplication and division unit this week, with a short evaluation next Monday. Students should be able to multiply one digit times three digit numbers, and divide two digit numbers by one digit (with a remainder). I will email some parents if I find their child might benefit from some extra practice at home. English We are starting persuasive texts in English this week! Students will be exploring different persuasive techniques, and different forms of persuasive texts. We will also be continuing with our word work, and reading "City of Ember." French In French we will continue to explore sentence types. We will also be looking at writing techniques (such as writing with more detail and voice). We will look at how to write an interrogative phrase. Here's a little practice section: www.alloprof.qc.ca/fr/eleves/bv/francais/la-phrase-interrogative-f1138
