It has been lovely seeing you all during interviews! If anyone did not get a chance to sign up, please drop me a line and we can arrange something! Also, Monday will be a pajama day/board game day. Students are welcome to bring in their favourite board games to play with the class. French This week, we are mostly working on reading. We will work in guided reading groups and concentrate on comprehension activities. Many students are bringing home French books this week, and any extra practice at home would really be helpful. We are also continuing our work on conjugating verbs. For those who would like some extra practice, pages 1 and 2 of the following document are helpful: www.bdrp.ch/system/files/docs/2017-02-18/8p_le_present.pdf English We have English vocabulary words this week. The kids will be studying long "o" sounds. The most important thing isn't to memorize the vocabulary words, but rather to recognize the patterns that make a long o sound. The following pack has a few long "o" activities to help students recognize those patterns: cdn.thisreadingmama.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Long-o-Vowel-Pack.pdf We will also continue reading Varjak Paw. I didn't get a chance to post the Youtube videos with the chapters last week, so here they are. It starts with Chapter one, but the whole book is up. Last week we got to Chapter seven, and I suspect we will probably get to chapter 12 this week: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFF5m7gTV_w&list=PL3kA-gpaSB2bCI7wkcvsSCaiLQ6TCTCpP Maths
We are comparing fractions this week! In grade four, students are expected to be able to compare fractions with like denominators or like numerators. The following link allows you to build you own worksheet. For those who would like some extra practice, it's a great place to start: www.math-aids.com/Fractions/Denominator_Numerator_Comparison.html
