I hope everyone had a restful long weekend and a happy Thanksgiving! Here's what we're working on this week: French We are continuing to learn about the 8 types of words. This week we'll be learning about determinants and adjectives. Here are some activities to support that learning: Les adjectifs The students are continuing to write informational texts on something they are already an expert on. With that, some students might benefit from researching their subject a bit more. In reading, we are going to work on creating connections between what they are reading and their own life experiences. This is something parents can help with! Talking with your child about what they are reading and what they think of it can really help them make those connections. English We will stick with our same word lists (that can be found on Google Classroom). Students can also work on their research projects on mammals of Prince Edward Island. Here's a great place to do some research: https://www.hww.ca/en/wildlife/mammals/ Not all the mammals are on here, but it's a great place to start!
Math We are finishing up our number sense, and then we'll move on to adding and subtracting. There are all kinds of ways to work on this, but we start with estimating. This can be so challenging for some students. Here's an English video that explains it: Estimating sums and differences
