Here's what we will be up to this week: - Book fair: Next week, we will be having the first book fair of the year. There will be viewing times at the end of this week and beginning of next week so students can know how much money to bring. French We are studying French vocabulary words this week. Please check "Vocabulary Words of the Week" to see them. Here's a quick little guide to the words: www.schoolmouv.fr/cours/lire-la-lettre-c-s-k-ou-/fiche-de-cours We will also be starting our French plays! This aren't necessarily for performing, rather they are a chance for students to work on their fluency in reading. Students are welcome to bring their books home to practice. English In English we will be working on finishing our stories. Students can access their stories any time at home by going to Google Classroom. To sign in, they need to know their usernames and passwords. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to email passwords to parents, but I've encouraged the kids to write them down so they access it if they would like to. We will also be continuing our work on identifying the parts of a story. This is something we do in both English and French. Here's a little video that goes over it: study.com/academy/lesson/story-elements-lesson-for-kids.html#:~:text=There%20are%20five%20story%20elements,that%20happen%3B%20and%20the%20solution. Maths We are finally starting subtraction this week! Our weeks have been filling up with assemblies and practices, so I fell a little bit behind. In grade four, students should be able to subtract numbers with up to four digits. Regrouping can be a real challenge, so here's a practice page: www.worksheetfun.com/2013/03/06/4-digit-subtraction-regrouping-borrowing-9-worksheets/
