I didn't make a typo up above! I'll be away from December 6 - 11, so I wanted to put two weeks up on the blog. In my place, Bethany Burt will be in class. She is a certified French sub, and I know the kids will have a great time with her. French For the next two weeks, we will be working on verbs and reading comprehension. We will also be writing a paragraph (on an imaginary animal). Conjugating verbs can take a lot of practice. The following is a little match up game where the students need to match up the verb with their "infinitif" form: www.ecoledecrevette.fr/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/4asg-pzL_nxlBBNgbVZ5PqB_xU4mistigri-verbe-et-infinitif.pdf We will be working on French vocabulary words for the first week. I will be putting up French and English lists on our "Vocabulary words of the week" section. In French, students should be able to read the "G" sound. Here's ano For those who are looking for more French content (tv, articles, games), we have been on the "Zone Jeunesse" section of the CBC. There are all kinds of things there: ici.radio-canada.ca/jeunesse/scolaire English In English, we will be continuing our reading of Varjak Paw. I'll be asking the kids to periodically write their thoughts in Google Classroom. Don't forget to check out the Youtube videos of the readings of Varjak Paw: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFF5m7gTV_w&list=PL3kA-gpaSB2bCI7wkcvsSCaiLQ6TCTCpP The link takes you to chapter 1, but on the right you can see all the chapters. Great if anyone misses a day and doesn't want to fall behind! We will be working on English vocabulary words during the second week. The sounds we will be covering are long "u." If you scroll down to page 29, we will be using some activities from the following book: portal.sd47.bc.ca/public/nnztsmc4pjxwuylko55g6ltdorzxk2dgmr2xm4y/Documents/Long_Vowels_Grades_1-2_Standard_E-book.pdf You can also see the words (along with next week's French words) on the "Vocabulary words of the week" section of the blog. We will work on writing a paragraph of the week. The subject will be "A time I was really scared." Maths We will be starting decimals next week! Students should be able to convert fractions to decimals. We will also learn how to add and subtract decimals. Here's a practice worksheet: math-drills.com/decimal/decaddsubtenths_001.php
